Viña Alarde is a centenary winery, situated in the most famous of all the DOs in Spain, La Rioja.

Viña Alarde Crianza

Region: D.O. Ca. Rioja 

Grape Varieties: 80 % Tempranillo, 20 % Garnacha. 

Production Method 

The grapes arrive to the winery at the optimum point of ripeness. After a careful selection of the best ones, the obtained must is fermented at a controlled temperature below 28 °C. Once the fermentation is complete, the wine is transferred to American oak barrels where it is aged for a minimum of 18 months.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Ruby red, clean and bright color. On the nose: Ripe red fruits with coconut and vanilla aromas. On the palate: Well balanced and structured with oak nuances. Long and persistent.

Viña Alarde Gran Reserva

Region: D.O. Ca. Rioja 

Grape Varieties: 100 % Tempranillo 

Production Method 

After a careful selection of the best grapes and gentle fermentation, the wine is kept in vats for a period of 12 months in order to be fully stabilized before being transferred to oak casks for ageing. Gran Reservas are kept in American oak casks for 36 months. Further bottle ageing for a further 3 years takes place before it is released. 

Tasting Notes

Deep black-cherry colour with tawny hues. Subtle and complex nose, with aromas of black fruit and spice and vainilla from the oak ageing. Harmonious, elegant and smooth yet full-bodied with good tannins. Long and pleasant finish.
